When he leaned over to light the fire, there was a huge fireball—landing Trouten back in the hospital with burns over 20 percent of his body. Fortunately the burns weren’t too severe and workers’ compensation insurance paid his medical bills. He still helps out during the annual work day at church—though he steers clear of fire.
